We are very proud to announce that Tom Seasoltz, CFO for the Altoona Blair County Development (ABCD) Corp. was presented with the 2019 Young Professional to Watch Award during the 2019 Fall Conference of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA), held on October 22, in Indiana, PA.

“Tom is a dedicated, honest and hard-working individual who never gives anything less than his all whether it is for his family, community or work,” said Steve McKnight, President & CEO of ABCD Corp. “We are honored to have Tom as a leader within our organization and across the state and cannot think of a more deserving young professional for this award.”

The Young Professional to Watch Award recognizes young economic development professionals under the age of 40, who are members of PEDA in good standing and who demonstrate leadership and advancement in their careers; exhibit proven economic / community development activity (local, regional or state); promote active involvement in local, state or regional economic development associations; advocate for the economic development profession; and embed themselves as exceptional members of their communities.

“I have known Tom for 12 years first as a student at Penn State Altoona through to today as Chair of ABCD’s Board of Directors and his serving on the Penn State Altoona Alumni Board, and he has consistently proven himself to be servant leader, a dedicated and driven student, and a tireless supporter of his community,” said Dr. Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry, Chancellor and Dean of Penn State Altona.

Seasoltz began his career with ABCD Corp. in 2009 through an I-99 Corridor Executive Internship and then upon his graduation from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University with a degree in Finance, he was hired as a full-time employee in 2010. In 2013 Tom became the very first person in Pennsylvania to earn the Development Finance Certified Professional certification from the Council of Development Financing Agencies. In 2016 Seasoltz was promoted to Director of Corporate Finance and then in 2019 he was again promoted, becoming the youngest Chief Financial Officer in ABCD Corp.’s 73-year history.
