Overview

The I-99 Regional Internship Network connects qualifying students with unique social and career building opportunities while helping them to gain valuable real-world career experience right here in Central Pennsylvania.

Throughout a career, relationships are built and maintained that can increase employment options both vertically within an organization and horizontally between organizations.  Qualifying students can begin building their contacts today through the I-99 Regional Internship Network.  I-99 Interns network through educational workshops, social events and recognition dinners.

Students meeting the program requirements can submit an application to the I-99 Regional Internship Council anytime during the school year through April 17th.  The Council will review applicants and notify students accepted into the program by April 28th.
 
Students accepted into the network attend several social and networking events and will be formally recognized by the business community at the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation’s annual breakfast meeting that will be held May 8, 2009.

Each intern also becomes part of the I-99 Regional Intern Database which will be accessed by regional business representatives as staff positions become available.  Specific work schedules and applicable rates of pay must be determined in advance between the host organization and participating intern.  Students accepted into the program will receive a $1,000 Scholarship following successful completion of the internship.
